Netflix documentary ‘14 Peaks: Nothing is Impossible’ has been nominated for an Emmy Awards 2022. 

Directed by Torquil Jones, the popular documentary follows Nepali mountaineer Nirmal Purja and his team as they attempt to climb all 14 of the world's highest peaks with an altitude greater than 8,000 meters in less than seven months.

The film has been nominated for Outstanding Music Composition for A Documentary Series or Special (Original Dramatic Score) - 2022.  Nainita Desai, the music composer for the documentary , has been nominated in this category. 

Desai's sound composition for the documentary received praise from critics after it was aired on Netflix. Desai remarked that collecting and generating music in the emptiness of Mt. Everest was a difficult task and she tied emptiness to the definition of sound. 

As soon as the announcement of the Emmy nomination was announced, Nirmal Purja congratulated Desai on social media platforms. 

The documentary streamed on November 29, 2021, on Netflix, garnered a huge popularity throughout the world following the story of Nirmal “Nims” Purja and his ‘Project Possible’ in quest of summiting 14 mountains over 8,000m in a single year. 

The documentary was one of the most watched documentaries on the platform and was also featured in the Top Ten documentaries. 

The '14 Peaks' will be competing for the award alongside Lucy and Desi, Return to Space, The Tinder Swlinder, and They Call Me Magic. 

The voting for the award will begin from August 12 till August 22, 2022. The ceremony will be held in Los Angeles, USA, on September 12.
