After a break of nearly two months, the Kathmandu Metropolitan City resumed its demolition drive on Wednesday. This time around, the metropolis officials ran their dozers along the Dhobi Khola corridor to knock off the illegal structures on the river banks. 

KMC Mayor Balen Shah and his team have taken a hard line against illegally built structures, tearing down such structures, including hoarding boards. 

The KMC had warned occupants of such illegal properties along the Dhobi Khola banks. However, many roadside shop owners were seen running helter-skelter when a group of Metro Police personnel marched along the corridor with earth movers excavators in tow at  Devinagar near Anamnagar.
