Elections 2022

The Ambassador of India to Nepal, Naveen Srivastava, has handed over more than 200 vehicles to Nepal as logistic support to various Nepali institutions for the upcoming November elections.

The Indian Embassy said in a press statement that Srivastava handed over the vehicles to Finance Minister Janardan Sharma as a gift for the logistic support to support the upcoming elections on behalf of the Indian government.

“These vehicles are being handed over at the request of the Government of Nepal for utilisation during elections. Of these, 120 vehicles are for security forces and 80 vehicles are for Election Commission of Nepal,” said the statement.

“These vehicles would prove to be useful in further augmenting the logistical arrangements of various institutions of Nepal across the country for conducting the polls.”

On the occasion, Finance Minister Janardan Sharma thanked the government and people of India for their continued support to Nepal.

“The Government of India has been extending support in the form of vehicles as per the request of the Government of Nepal in previous years as well, for the utilisation by Election Commission as well as the security forces of Nepal,” added the statement.
