At least 25 people were hurt in a series of attacks by a rabid dog at various locations in Ichhakamana Rural Municipality.

A rabid dog ran amok in Majhgaun, Nagdaha, Dhap, and Chisapani neighbourhoods at Ward-3 of the rural municipality. The dog attacked both pedestrians and home workers.

Maya Silwal, vice-chairperson of the rural municipality, reported that the rabid dog had attacked and injured 25 persons within a two-hour period.

She reported that 20 of the injured were treated at the Kurintar health station, while five are receiving critical care at the Bharatpur Hospital.

After the incident, the rural municipality seized control, killed the rabid dog, and submitted it for testing, according to Silwal.

Basudev Sapkota, chief of the rural municipality's Health Section, advised anyone bitten by a rabid dog to call the rural municipality's Health Section.
