A delegation of the Confederation of Nepalese Industries (CNI) met with newly appointed Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal' Prachanda'.

During the meeting at the Prime Minister's private residence at Khumaltar on Tuesday, the delegation of the office-bearers led by Chairperson Bishnu Kumar Agrawal on behalf of the private sector congratulated and extended best wishes to Dahal on his election to the post of the prime minister.

The delegation suggested that improvement in the country's economy, which is in challenging condition, should be the new government's first priority.  

The CNI presented the concept 'Rebooting Nepalese Economy' along with the clear steps to be initiated immediately to revive the country's economy before the Prime Minister.

It also suggested the measures to be adopted immediately, keeping the fiscal sector (liquidity crisis and high-interest rate), industrial promotion, tourism, energy and information technology as priorities to revive the country's economy.

PM Dahal said in the meeting that he had expected this type of suggestion from the private sector for reforming the economy. "I had expected this from the private sector. The confederation has submitted clear reform plans, thank you to the confederation," he added.

Dahal asserted that the government's main attention is on improving the economy and the government will collaborate with the confederation in that regard. "We have prioritised the economy from the very first meeting of the Council of Ministers. We will be moving ahead in collaboration with the private sector," the PM said.

Confederation's former president Hari Bhakta Sharma, vice-president Nirvan Chaudhary, Krishna Prasad Adhikari, Birendra Raj Pandey, Rohit Gupta, Confederation's Industry Committee President Gokul Bhandari, confederation Director General Deepak Raj Joshi, among other office-bearers and members congratulated and extended best wishes to PM Dahal.
