Nepal Minute - out of the ordinary

Nepal

As the 16-day activism against gender-based violence continues, an alleged domestic violence victim sprinkled red paint on her dress outside the Supreme Court complex in Kathmandu on Tuesday, demanding justice.

Binu Yadav, a resident of Siraha district, got married to Pradeep Kathayat of Ramechhap after a love affair. She allegedly became a victim of physical and mental torture at the hands of her husband and in-laws. The Patan High Court is looking into her case.

After she sprayed red paint on the Supreme Court's signboard,  the police arrested Yadav, and her companion, Jasmine Ojha.
