Nepal announced a 14-member squad for the ICC World Cup League-2 triangular series against Namibia and Scotland taking place in Windhoek, Namibia from December 1-8.

The national team squad list, announced by Nepal coach Manoj Prabhakar, for the competition in Namibia, included 13 of the 16 players that participated in the home series against the UAE that Nepal won 2-1.

All-rounders Mohammad Adil Alam, Kamal Singh Airee and Bhim Sarki have been left out of the team for the tour. None of them featured in a single game during the UAE series.

Newcomer Nandan Yadav has been drafted into the team to fill in a role of an all-rounder. Yadav, who plays domestic cricket from Bagmati, is known for his fast pace and good batting in the lower order.

All-rounder Harishankar Shah, who made his debut in the UAE series, also retains his place in the team.

Nepal play Namibia in the opening match on December 2 and Scotland on December 4 in the series that will be played in the double round-robin format. They start the second round on December 7 with Namibia and meet Scotland a day later.

Nepal currently lie sixth in the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup League 2 table with 17 points after 20 games. The top three will progress to the global World Cup qualifiers. Nepal have to win all their remaining matches to achieve the feat.

Nepal team: Rohit Paudel (Captain), Aasif Sheikh, Dipendra Singh Airee, Kushal Bhurtel, Lalit Rajbanshi, Sompal Kami, Sagar Dhakal, Arjun Saud, Gyanendra Malla, Aarif Sheikh, Gulshan Jha, Karan KC, Harishankar Shah and Nandan Yadav.
