Five persons, who sustained serious injuries in a house collapse due to a earthquake that hit Doti on Wednesday, are undergoing treatment at the Doti Hospital.

A Nepali Army (NA) team rescued them and took them by helicopter to the Doti Hospital early morning on Wednesday for treatment, said Army spokesperson Narayan Silwal.

The Army helicopters called from Surkhet and Dhangadhi of Kailali rescued the injured persons. Similarly, NA troops from Bhairab Prasad Battalion, deployed at the site for rescue, have been involved in rescue and relief efforts along with the locals and other security forces.

The NA spokesperson added that relief items, including food and tents, have been delivered at the site.

At least six people died and scores were injured when two back-to-back earthquakes hit Suduspaschim Province on Tuesday night and wee hours on Wednesday.
