Celebrations for the 73rd Democracy Day are being held across the country.

Every year, Falgun 7 is observed as the National Democracy Day to commemorate the establishment of democracy in the country in 2007 BS when the nation was liberated from the 104-year autocratic Rana regime.

During a special function at the Sainik Manch, a Nepali Army helicopter, carrying the National Democracy Day 2079 banner flew across the sky over Tundikhel, showered flower petals.

Likewise, the national flag was hoisted while pigeons, messengers of peace, and colourful balloons were flown from the ground amid the ceremony.
